Welcome to MDM Solutions — my new home on the web! I’m Michael Morgan, and I’m excited to finally have a central hub that brings together my professional work, personal projects, and resources for friends and family.

What is This Site?

This site serves three distinct purposes:

1. 📝 Personal Blog

This is where I’ll share thoughts, tutorials, and experiences on topics I’m passionate about:

  • Self-hosting — Running your own services and infrastructure
  • Home automation — Smart home setups and integrations
  • DevOps & Infrastructure — Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and more
  • Technology deep-dives — Reviews, tutorials, and how-tos
  • Life updates — The occasional personal post

2. 💼 Professional Consulting

Through my company, WindyFin Tech LLC, I provide technology consulting services. The Consulting page showcases my experience, skills, and the services I offer.

3. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Resources

The Family Resources page is a simple directory for friends and family to access the various services I host — from photo galleries to cloud storage and smart home controls. No more hunting through bookmarks or asking “what was that URL again?”

Why Build This?

I’ve been self-hosting services for years, but they’ve always felt disconnected. I wanted a single place that:

  • Acts as my digital business card
  • Serves as a knowledge base for things I’ve learned
  • Provides a central hub for family to access our shared resources
  • Gives me a platform to give back to the community through tutorials and guides

The Tech Stack

For those curious, here’s how this site is built:

  • Static Site Generator: Hugo
  • Theme: PaperMod
  • Hosting: Self-hosted on Debian via Docker
  • Reverse Proxy: Nginx Proxy Manager (SSL termination)
  • Version Control: Git

Static sites are fantastic — fast, secure, and easy to maintain. No databases to worry about, no PHP vulnerabilities, just plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
